We have recently completed a substantial re-build of an original Rutenberg Ranch design - which underwent an extensive redesign with the help of Osborn Sharp Architects (designers of the famed Florida House). This asian-influenced green design incorporates large overhanging soffits providing shading to the home, a second story living quarters addition, and creative natural light wells. The new floor plan includes large terraces that are open to the great room through 20 foot wide folding door openings. The front entrance features an over-the-water path, and waterfall. From a recent press release: Sarasota Florida - Inbar architect AIA and MyGreenBuildings have been selected to build what is slated to be the first LEED certified home located on Casey Key Beach, in Nokomis Florida. "One look at the renderings for this project and we were hooked, says Steve Ellis, co-owner of MyGreenBuildings. As a sustainable builder, we of course love to build properly scaled – impeccably designed architecture. We are honored to have our name associated with this project”, said Ellis.
The elegant coastal contemporary design was developed by Yehuda Inbar AIA architect. MyGreenBuildings was introduced to the homeowner since the Owner had expressed a high degree of interest in building sustainably on this – the most exclusive stretch of sand in Sarasota County. |

Terry Osborn and the Florida House Committee selected MyGreenBuildings as the contractor to help coordinate the green retrofit of the home in its new location. “MyGreenBuildings will pull the necessary permits, and provide the Florida House with the helpful oversight and act as point coordinator of the many subcontractors working on this important project”, said Osborn. “We intend to upgrade the already significantly green home with technologies and systems that are current to today’s standards – and make this a model for sustainable retrofitting – of which there is a substantial need for throughout this state.” See more about this project by clicking on the link above... |
